Lara was raised primarily in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She moved to California in 1986 to attend college and has lived in California the vast majority of her adult life. Lara earned a B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University and earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.  After law school, Lara’s practice focused on insurance coverage, insurance defense, business litigation and employment litigation.  Lara moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2020 and ultimately became a member of the Utah Bar where her practice focused on insurance regulatory and captive insurance law. Lara moved back to California in 2025 and joined Yaron & Douglas in March of 2026.

Lara currently lives in Tustin and spends her free time as an “empty-nester” hiking, running, gardening and cooking.
